Bass Gianluca Buratto, originally from Lombardy, studied at the Conservatorio di Musica ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ di Milano. He made his operatic debut in the 2009 world premiere of Solbiati’s Il carro e i canti at the Teatro Verdi Trieste. He has subsequently received numerous invitations to perform at venues such as Wigmore Hall, London, the Salzburger Festspiele, the Teatro alla Scala, Milan, the Teatro La Fenice, Venice and the Theater an der Wien. He performed worldwide as Seneca in L’incoronazione di Poppea in concerts with Sir John Eliot Gardiner, and also sang the role of Timur in Turandot at the Bregenzer Festspiele.
