The Slovak soprano Adriana Kučerová studied at the School of Music in Bratislava, the Conservatoire supérieur de musique et danse in Lyon and at the Bratislava Academy of Music and Drama. Winner of a number of competitions, she has been a member of the Slovakian National Theatre since 2004. She made her début at La Scala, Milan, in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas under Christoper Hogwood and sang her first Sophie in Werther in Munich. She made her Glyndebourne Festival début as Gretel in 2008 and in the same year sang Anne Truelove in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress under Harnoncourt in Vienna. After appearances at the Paris Opéra-Bastille, Glyndebourne and the BBC Proms in London, in 2010 she made her American début as Norina in Don Pasquale with Dallas Opera.
