Sue Patchell has appeared in guest performances for some years in various leading international opera-houses, including Hamburg, Vienna, Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Rome, Antwerp and Houston. Her rôles have included Senta, Elsa, Elisabeth, Eva, Freia, Sieglinde, Arabella and the Marschallin. The last of these she has sung in the Stuttgart Der Rosenkavalier. In 1999 she made her début at the Metropolitan Opera as Isolde, a rôle she has sung in many major opera-houses and in concert performances.
