The award-winning bass, Maurizio Muraro, has worked with many of the world’s most distinguished conductors and orchestras, and sung in the greatest operas houses and concert venues. His repertoire encompasses works by Wagner, Rossini, Puccini, Bellini and others, and he favours, in particular, all the Mozart roles in which he can express his innate gifts for comedy.
Among his recordings are Carmen under the direction of Giuseppe Sinopoli for Teldec, Tosca with Antonio Pappano for EMI Classics, Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni both with Betrand de Billy and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Peter and the Wolf with the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico, Vicenza.
Highlights of the 2017/18 season include Il barbiere di Siviglia at Dresden’s Semperoper, Le nozze di Figaro at the Metropolitan Opera, and he returns to the Bastille in Paris with two productions, Benvenuto Cellini and Gianni Schicchi.
