Mezzo-soprano Gwendolyn Jones first came to attention as the youngest winner of the national Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions at the age of nineteen. She has subsequently appeared with the San Francisco Opera, New York City Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, New Orleans Opera, Central City Opera, among others; internationally, her work has included the Spoleto Festival in Italy, and concerts and tours in Brazil, Israel, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and China. She has appeared in concert at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, at the Ravinia Festival and Blossom Festival, the Berkshire Choral Institute, the Carmel Bach Festival, and Iowa’s Summer Chamber Music Festival.
