Gisela Stille was born in Sweden and studied musicology, sociology and educational theory at the University of Lund. Later she was admitted to the Opera Academy in Copenhagen, where she studied with Kirsten Buhl Møller. Important roles at the Royal Danish Theatre include Papagena in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Nanetta in Verdi’s Falstaff, Moira in Poul Ruders’ The Handmaid’s Tale and Corinna in Rossini’s The Journey to Rheims. She has appeared in many concerts, for example singing the solo part in Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the Copenhagen Philharmonic. In 2003 Gisela Stille was awarded the Elisabeth Dons Memorial Grant.
