Olga Peretyatko started her musical career at the age of fifteen in her native St Petersburg, where she was a member of the Mariinsky Theatre Children’s Chorus, singing in their Carmen. She completed her training as a choral conductor with distinction. From 2002 she studied singing at the Berlin Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule with Brenda Mitchell and Júlia Várady.

She has won success in several international singing competitions, including the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera Competition in 2003 and 2004 and the Ferruccio Tagliavini Competition, with Dame Joan Sutherland in the jury.
