Simon Bode is one of the most sought-after German tenors of his generation, commanding opera and recital stages the world over. Equally beloved for his warm, bright timbre as for his forthright stage presence, the singer is a frequent guest at prestigious international festivals such as the Heidelberger Frühling, Kissinger Sommer and Beethovenfest Bonn, as well as the Bregenz and Salzburg Festivals. Further appearances include performances at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg; Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles; Pierre Boulez Saal, Berlin; Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris and Wigmore Hall, London.
Bode’s longstanding musical partners include pianists Igor Levit and Graham Johnson. He has performed with ensembles such as the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Les Talens Lyriques, and worked with conductors such as Kent Nagano, Alan Gilbert, Andrew Manze, Andrea Marcon, Peter Eötvös and Esa-Pekka Salonen.
Bode has won numerous national and international competitions and studied with Charlotte Lehmann in Hanover and Neil Semer in New York.
