Since its foundation in 1978, the Paris Chamber Orchestra (formerly the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris), numbering 43 permanent players, has established itself as the leading such ensemble in France. It has collaborated with distinguished musicians, including Jean-Pierre Wallez, Armin Jordan, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, John Nelson (honorary music director), and Joseph Swensen. The orchestra has undertaken tours of Europe, Japan, South America and Russia.
