Emilie Renard exploded onto the international performing scene by winning First Prize in the 2013 Cesti Competition at the Innsbruck Festival. Having been a member of Le Jardin des Voix, Renard continues to enjoy a particularly rich association with Les Arts Florissants and its director, William Christie.

Recent performance highlights have included appearances as Ersinda in Porpora’s Germanico in Germania and Stradella’s oratorio San Giovanni Battista with Alessandro De Marchi, the female lead in Zingarelli’s Giulietta e Romeo, the title role in Handel’s Susanna for Christian Curnyn, Junon in Rameau’s Platée, the title role in Lully’s Armide, and Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte for Christophe Rousset. For the 2018–19 season Renard joined the Ensemble of Theater Magdeburg, where she sang the role of Erika in Barber’s Vanessa, and the title role in Handel’s Serse. Renard also made her debut at the Staatsoper Hamburg singing Witness 2/Singer 2/Woman 2 in George Benjamin’s Lessons in Love and Violence, a production staged by Katie Mitchell and conducted by Kent Nagano.
