Alessandra Volpe completed her musical training at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Bari, graduating summa cum laude in piano and voice. She made early débuts in sacred and chamber music and in 2004 took the rôle of the Baroness in Nino Rota’s Il cappello di paglia di Firenze, followed in 2005 by an appearance in Weil’s Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny and Debussy’s La Demoiselle élue for the Fondazione Petruzzelli. Her rôles have included Tisbe (La Cenerentola) and Maddalena (Rigoletto). She made her début at La Scala, Milan, in Die lustige Witwe. In 2010 she won the Tirana Maria Kraja Opera Competition and made her American and Spanish débuts a year later.
