Trio Pangea combines the strong artistic identities of its members, arising from a shared desire to give repertoire from the 20th and 21st centuries a distinctive flavour.

Trio Pangea is regularly invited to perform at the most prestigious festivals and concert cycles in Portugal, Spain, Belgium and France, such as the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) in Lisbon, the Casa da Música in Porto, Cistermúsica in Alcobaça, the Festival Internacional de Música de Marvão (FIMM), International Music Festival in Leiria, Música em São Roque in Lisboa, Serões Musicais no Palácio da Pena in Sintra, Clásicos en Verano in Madrid, the Institut Français, Festival de l’Été Mosan, Fundación Museo Evaristo Valle and Festival de Verano in Oviedo, among others. The trio regularly performs for the Portuguese national radio station RTP – Antena 2.


THE MEMBERS

The French violinist Léo Belthoise dedicates a large part of his activities to the new music stage. Having studied with Raphaël Oleg at the Musik-Akademie Basel while being supported by the Swiss Foundation for Young Musicians, he became a guest of renowned festivals and ensembles, and embarked on an international career as a soloist and chamber musician. His first solo record dedicated to the works of Manon Lepauvre and Toshio Hosokawa was released in 2023.

Born in Barcelona, Sara Chordà is a cello graduate of the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and the Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum in Augsburg. Since 2014, she has been the co-principal cellist of the Oviedo Filarmonía, also performing with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Augsburger Philharmoniker, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and as solo cello with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias. Chordà is a core member of the Vertixe Sonora Ensemble and holds a Doctoral degree in musicology from the University of Oviedo.

French pianist Bruno Belthoise is a laureate of the Fondation de France and the 1997 Adami ‘Révélation Classique’. As both a soloist and a chamber musician he has had several works dedicated to him by contemporary composers. His discography includes over 30 albums, and he is committed to championing French music. He has a keen interest in exploring the musical history of Portugal, and has recorded many world premieres, as well as giving recitals and lectures around the world. His work is supported by renowned Portuguese institutions such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Camões Institute and Antena 2 – RTP.
