Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, tenor Patrick Kabongo was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels. From 2010 to 2012 he was a member of the Opera de Rouen followed by the Academy of the Paris Opera Comique, and from 2015 to 2017 the Accademia del Maggio Musicale in Florence.

He performed in the world premiere of Marc-Olivier Dupin’s Le Mystère de l’écureuil bleu at the Opera Comique, and has also appeared at the Opera national du Rhin and the Theatre des Champs-Elysees. Recent debuts include Zémire et Azor in Schwetzingen, Les Martyrs in Vienna, Don Pasquale in Dublin and Quebec and Il Turco in Italia in Avignon. Kabongo has performed at the Rossini in Wildbad festival on numerous occasions.
