Since winning the Hans Haring First International Prize in Salzburg in 1982, Patrick Fournillier has enjoyed ongoing and fruitful collaborations with prestigious opera houses throughout Europe and North America.

Highlights include Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Metropolitan Opera, New York, Don Quixote and Carmen in Turin, Lucia di Lammermoor, Manon, Semiramide and Carmen in Berlin; Gounod’s Faust at the Ravenna Festival, the Opernhaus Zürich and the Teatro alla Scala, Pagliacci and Cavalleria rusticana in Seattle; Alfano’s Cyrano de Bergerac at the Teatro alla Scala and in Valencia and San Francisco, Massenet’s Werther in Munich, Manon at the Opéra de Nice, and Berlioz’s La Damnation de Faust in Dresden.

He is regularly a guest conductor at the Massenet Festival, where he has directed Cléopâtre, Esclarmonde, Grisélidis, Panurge, Le Cid, as well as Sapho and the oratorio La Vierge.
