The Italian tenor Vincenzo Costanzo won the International Opera Award ‘Oscar della Lirica’ (New Generation Tenors prize) in Doha, Qatar, in 2014, and the competition Voci Verdiane in Busseto. Despite his young age Costanzo has already had a chance to work with internationally renowned conductors such as Daniel Oren, James Conlon and Myung-whun Chung.

In December 2012 he made his debut singing in Giuseppe Verdi’s Macbeth at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, conducted by Andrea Battistoni. Among his other Verdi roles are Rodolfo in Luisa Miller, Alfredo Germont in La traviata, Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera and Nabucco. Recent and future engagements include Madama Butterfly in San Francisco (his US debut), in Madrid, Venice and Hamburg, La rondine in Berlin, Macbeth in Palermo and Liège, I masnadieri in Bilbao, La Bohème in Berlin and Bologna, and La traviata in Salerno and Naples.
