Brazilian trumpeter Fábio Brum has performed in over 30 countries. He has won prizes at the Città di Porcia International Competition, Prague Spring International Music Competition, Juan García Marín International Trumpet Competition, Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Solo Competition and the International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition among others, and received scholarships and awards from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), Baden-Württemberg Stipendium, Lake Placid Institute and the Leon Rapier Scholarship Fund and others.
Brum is the dedicatee of compositions by more than 20 composers, several of which appear on this album. He has performed with Canadian Brass, RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble intercontemporain, the Spanish National Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, Bern Symphony Orchestra, among others, and played with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Semyon Bychkov and Matthias Pintscher. For over a decade Brum was principal trumpet of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra and Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla.
He is a graduate of the University of Louisville and the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. Fábio Brum is a Stomvi artist.
