Mezzo-soprano Claudia Mahnke has thrilled audiences internationally on the opera stage and in concert halls with her warm, versatile voice. Recent highlights include Dorabella (Così fan tutte) at Aix-en-Provence-Festival and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris; Fricka (Der Ring des Nibelungen) at Staatsoper Berlin; her Metropolitan Opera debut as Magdalene (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) under Antonio Pappano; Herodias (Salome) at the Wiener Staatsoper; and her role debut as Mère Marie (Dialogues des Carmélites) at Oper Frankfurt, where she is a member of the ensemble, and a named Kammersängerin of Frankfurt, an honour she had previously received at Staatsoper Stuttgart.

Guest appearances have led her to the Bayerische Staatsoper, Staatsoper Hamburg and the Bayreuth Festival, among others.

Mahnke studied with Heidi Petzold at the Hochschule für Musik Dresden.
