Leonardo Gramegna studied at the Piccinni Conservatorio in Bari and at the Accademia Arturo Toscanini in Parma, making his début in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots at the Festival della Valle d’Itria di Martina Franca, and appearing in Paisiello’s Proserpina and Gomes’s Salvator Rosa. He undertook the rôle of Herod in Richard Strauss’s Salome and has sung principal rôles, among others in Verdi’s Nabucco and La traviata, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Tosca, and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. He has appeared in leading opera houses throughout Italy, at festivals and in concert-halls.
