GRAMMY® Award-winning American tenor Aaron Sheehan has established himself as a first-rate singer in many styles, ranging from oratorio and chamber music to opera. He regularly performs in the United States, South America and Europe, having appeared at the Tanglewood Festival, the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and Lincoln Center, New York, as well as numerous other international venues and festivals.
Sheehan made his professional operatic debut with the Boston Early Music Festival (BEMF) in the world premiere staging of Mattheson’s Boris Goudenow, and has since performed with Opera Lafayette, Boston Baroque and the American Opera Theater, as well as the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the American Bach Soloists and the Seattle Symphony, among many others ensembles. Sheehan also works extensively in chamber music, and has sung with Theatre of Voices, Blue Heron and TENET among others
He sang the title role in BEMF’s recording of Charpentier’s La Descente d’Orphée aux enfers, which won Best Opera Recording at the 2015 GRAMMY® Awards.
