Born in Bari, the baritone Marcello Rosiello began to study singing with P. Naviglio and M. Arena, winning third prize in 2005 at the Rolando Nicolosi International Singing Competition. In 2004 he took part in a recital by the Rota Ensemble, conducted by N. Scardicchio, in Mola di Bari; and was Il Ciambellano in Rota's Lo scoiattolo in gamba, with words by Eduardo De Filippo. In 2005 he sang in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Fiorello) conducted by S. Monterisi at the Bitonto Opera Festival; and was Ben Budge in The Beggar's Opera by Britten, directed by Moni Ovadia. In 2006 he sang in Mozart's Missa Solemnis conducted by M. Maggiore, with the Camerata Musicale di Lucerna, and also appeared in Verdi's La traviata (Barone) at the Bitonto Opera Festival, and Bizet's Carmen under the baton of G. Pehlivanian and the direction of F. Tiezzi for the opera season of Bari's Fondazione Petruzzelli. In 2007 he was Marcello in Puccini's La bohème, staged at Milan's Teatro delle Erbe, and Jake Wallace in La fanciulla del west conducted by M. Arena at Messina's Teatro Vittorio Emanuele. He often appears in opera recitals.
