Internationally acclaimed as Don Giovanni, baritone Christopher Maltman is increasingly in demand in Verdi operas. He has performed Posa in Don Carlos, Ford in Falstaff, Conte di Luna in Il trovatore and Rigoletto, among other roles, and in concert he has sung repertoire from Bach and Gluck to Birtwistle and John Adams with conductors including Franz Welser-Möst, James Conlon, Christoph von Dohnányi, Roger Norrington, Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev and Kurt Masur.
Winner of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition Lieder prize, he remains a renowned recitalist. His extensive discography includes Corigliano’s Ghost of Versailles with LA Opera.
