After studying singing at the Nice conservatoire, Frédéric Caton joined the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, followed by four years with the Opéra de Lyon, firstly in the Studio, then as a member of the company. Since then he has performed throughout the world, including Massenet’s Werther in Vienna and London, Carmen in Tokyo, Pelléas et Mélisande, Katya Kabanová, Les Troyens and Le nozze di Figaro at the Salzburg Festival (productions given at the Opéra de Paris), and L’Enfance du Christ and Messiaen’s Saint François d’Assise at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.
