Concerning the student's performance for the first movement of this Haydn's Sonata, the professor firstly comments that some notes of the left-hand are not relevant. About the character from 2nd theme, this is legato and no staccato, and if the student is considering a contrast, she must really do it.
Besides, Zoltan Kocsis considers that the use of the pedal by the student is not typical from Haydn: it is legato but without pedal. Character is almost in the opera style, so the student must act more.
